Yuichiro Suga Appointed as COO
We are pleased to announce that Yuichiro Suga has joined SecureKernel as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
About Yuichiro Suga
Yuichiro Suga is an engineer and consultant with experience at PwC, Gartner, and Google across cybersecurity strategy, digital transformation advisory, and technology solutions. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lille (France) and is fluent in Japanese, French, and English.
A background spanning technology and management
With a background spanning biomedical engineering, economics, and organisational management — pursued in part through study in France1 — Yuichiro developed an early conviction that solving real-world problems requires more than technical skill: it demands an understanding of regulatory frameworks and organisational governance. That perspective forms the foundation of his expertise in the GRCA domain.
From strategy to execution: broad expertise and hands-on capability
At PwC, Yuichiro began with governance design and cloud migration projects for large manufacturers, before joining a young-led team that shipped an office attendance visibility system in just two weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic2. At Gartner, he contributed to cybersecurity strategy projects for major manufacturers, developing deep expertise in enterprise risk management and production-line information security. At Google, he worked on resolving technical challenges for global enterprise customers. His background aligns closely with SecureKernel’s business domain.
Two years as Founding Engineer
Yuichiro began supporting SecureKernel (then SliceCheese) before its incorporation in April 2024, and joined full time as Founding Engineer in January 2025. During this time he has contributed across engineering, security governance design, and B2B product development. In April 2026 he also obtained the Registered Information Security Specialist (RISS) qualification3. His COO appointment marks exactly two years since he first got involved.

Message from Yuichiro
Even as I take on this COO role, my belief hasn’t changed: SecureKernel is a company that will attract people even more talented. For now, I’ll be focused on building the foundation — communications, team structure, and new customer relationships — so we’re ready to welcome future members.
Together with CEO Takumi Iwaki and CTO James K. Nelson, we look forward to driving SecureKernel’s continued growth.
